About Lagrein
Lagrein is a rare grape, even in Italy, where it is grown mainly in Italy's Trentino-Alto Adige region. In Italy Lagrein is vinified into deep, dark reds and rosés.  The rosés are considered to be some of Italy's best.  In the Australian viticultural conditions the fruit becomes very rich in colour and depth of flavour and makes wonderful dark,  rich wines.

 MDC Lagrein
This Lagrein exhibits a plump and juicily fruity palate redolent of blackberry and bilberries. The nose is intriguingly fruity—almost like a compote—and the wine has a deliciously dense structure and huge purple colour. Delicious with soft cheeses or lamb it should also match many other dishes from roasted birds to gamier meats such as capretto (baby goat).
