About Malvasia Istriana
As the name ‘Istriana’ suggests this variety hails from the Istrian Peninsula in north eastern Italy and Western Croatia.  Malvasia is a varietal family whose fruit produces fresh, aromatic and smooth wines which can be quite alcoholic and sometimes sweet.   Istriana, a white grape clone, is the most important of the Malvasia family contributing to the production of eleven different DOC wines in Italy, mainly Friuli.

MDC Malvasia Istriana
''Hand’ made using natural techniques in a small batch of only 100 cases this Australian first is a fresh exciting white wine showing an amazing amount of natural fruit sweetness.  It is full of tropical fruit flavours with a lovely smooth, balanced palette and good length.  It is very versatile, in the manner of a Moscato, and will match with foods at either end of a meal from canapés to fruit platters.
