The Collection Wines
The Collection wines are selected on the basis of quality, consistency and varietal typicity. They are wines that represent distinctive styles and showcase the qualities and character of new clones and grape varieties. They are grouped into a range of price points, reflective of the resources dedicated to their production in both the vineyard and the winery.
The Project Wines
In the course of growing and vinifying the many parcels of fruit each year, we are assessing each one for potential and information on how these new clones and varieties perform in Australia. Some demonstrate clear potential right from the outset and these are bottled in very small quantities under the Project Wine label. From here, the best performing wines graduate to the Murray Darling Collection.
The Future
In the coming vintages we will be harvesting and vinifying many new clones and varieties, adding new wines to both the collection and the project range. These include Sagrantino, Aglianico, Schioppettino, Nosiola, Fiano, Greco di Tufo, Malvasia d’Istriana, Garganega, and the first cuttings of Nebbiolo selected from the vineyards of Angelo Gaja.
